The High Life

Henry's High Life is one of my all time favorite places to eat BBQ, specifically their baby back ribs.  Located in downtown San Jose behind the HP Pavilion, formerly known as the San Jose Arena, Henry's has been serving up their mouth watering BBQ since 1960.  It was also featured on the TV show, Man Vs Food.
As you know, eating is always more enjoyable with company.  My buddy, Trevor who has never been to the High Life, joined me so that he could experience the awesomeness that is Henry's.  It was barely after 5pm when we arrived and it was already packed. This wasn't really a surprise since there was a Sharks game later that evening.   A word to the wise, when eating at Henry's, it's always good to take into account there is wait time to order your food and then more wait time just to get seated.  Our overall wait was bout close to and hour... yeah its just that busy but it's totally worth it.  I ordered my usual, the full rack of baby back ribs, and Trevor had a teriyaki steak.  The meal came with a salad, baked potato with garlic butter and garlic bread.

Trevor enjoyed his steak, however it wasn't super tender but was very delicious.  He described his baked potato being "butterific", just like the garlic bread, which was more butter than bread.  The baby back ribs are always cooked to a perfection. The meat itself is deliciously tender and moist to the point where it comes right off the bone. While Henry's provides addition BBQ sauce for the ribs, I find that there is no need for it because every bite is already packed with the rich and awesome flavor of BBQ. Normally a half rack of ribs is enough but eating a full rack without barfing is an achievement.  This pic is for you Trevor.
We both Henry's full and ready to slip into a food coma... Hella good time, hella good friends and Hella Good FOOD!
